Steps to Renew Your Kansas Insurance License


1. Verify Your Renewal Date

Your insurance license in Kansas must be renewed every two years. Your expiration date is at the end of the month following your birthday.


2. Complete Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

Kansas requires insurance professionals to complete a set number of continuing education hours before renewing their license. Ensure you have completed the necessary CE credits:

·        For single and dual major lines or public adjustors, 18 CE hours, including 3 hours of ethics.

·        For Title Insurance: 4 title specific CE hours

·        For Crop Insurance: 2 crop specific CE hours

Be sure to complete these courses through a state-approved provider.


3. Submission of Continuing Education

Your CE credits will be submitted to NIPR/SBS by your education provider. The KS state statue is that credits are to be submitted within 10 days.


4. Complete the Renewal Application

Access the NIPR online portal to complete your renewal application. You will need to provide personal information including your social security number, date of birth, and license or NPN details, and any updates to your professional status.


 

  1. Go to www.NIPR.com

  2. In the Licensing Center, select “Renew an Existing License”

  3. Select the license type and relevant state information.

  4. Select “Go to the Online Application”

  5. Select “Individual”


  6. Select and fill the necessary fields to validate identity


  7. Select Next


  8. Input fields necessary to validate identity


  9. On the User Menu, Select “Start”


  10. Select a product type, an application type, and residency type. Select Next when complete


  11. Select the state and Next

  12. Select the license lines to renew


  13. Review the Renewal Fee


  14. Proceed through the steps validating the personal information, and attest to any civil, criminal or other relevant finding are correct.


  15. Submit & Pay the renewal fee! A renewal fee is required to process your application. Payment can be made online using a credit or debit card.


5. Submit Your Application

After completing the application and paying the renewal fee, you will receive an automated email receipt.


6. Await Confirmation and answer any follow-up questions!

Once your application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from NIPR/Kansas Insurance Department. This email will include a reference number for your application. The department will review your submission and notify you if any additional information is required.
